Generating extra income by renting out roofs

Founded in 1970 by their father, fruit farming family business Ruis is being run by brothers Walter and Henri. Over the years Ruis has built an excellent reputation producing high quality apples and pears from their own orchards. Committed to delivering the highest quality throughout the whole process, from planting trees to packaging, the entire operation is carried out in-house.

In 2015 the region was experiencing one of the worst summer storms in years. Hailstones the size of snowballs ruined Ruis' entire harvest with all storage roofs being damaged. Insurance payments were not sufficient to compensate for all damage. That's where GreenIPP came in. We now rent Ruis' roofs for a period of 25 years, taking care of the whole installment process of a state-of-the-art rooftop solar PV system. With the rent being paid upfront, we enable clean energy production and a discount on Ruis' energy bill.
